And life goes on

The movers arrived this morning at 8am sharp Portuguese time. (This means at least 9am.) By the end of the day, we had two crates fully packed. (My guess is that we will have 12 total.)

Packing is such an emotional thing for me. When you are putting things away for three months and you have young kids in the house, this means that there is a very good chance they won't fit into that item when you see it again. They may not want to play with that particular item when it finally arrives in June sometime.

At the same time, in the midst of a sea of boxes and air mattresses, I am reminded that life is still going on. Hannah, obviously oblivious to everything going on around her, decided to perfect her crawling this week.

Only some things can be "put on hold" and "packed up in a box." The real important things, the memories and moments, stay right with you.
