Final pics from trip

Joan and I left Eglin AFB at 6am on the nose on Friday! Within the next four hours, we had successfully entered three states, two of which Joan had never been to.

Louisiana meant just one thing -- getting to see Daddy -- finally. John had just finished his presentation and met us at the lobby. Once we got back to the room, Joan managed to snag a picture of JB before he changed out of his uniform:

His presentation was on snake bites, and more specifically, how to treat snake bites while deployed (especially in Iraq and Afghanistan). JB wouldn't tell you, but I will, that it received rave reviews! I am so proud of John and so excited that he has found a way to mix medicine with his love for the outdoors.

Before heading to the aquarium, the boys took a few minutes to explore their new hotel and get silly with Daddy.

After that, we were off to the aquarium in an attempt to squeeze in a visit before naps. We were hoping to go to the zoo but it was just too cloudy and cool for any of our comfort. So an indoor event it was. As you can tell from the pictures, Isaac was glued to his Daddy for the entire day. No more "Utah" for him!

Elijah was insistent on climbing up on this bench. It was quite comical to watch, but he did succeed in getting up before our visit was over.

After the aquarium, we stopped at "Daisy Dukes" -- a local sandwich shop for a quick bite to eat. Then it was back to the room for naps. After naps, we got the boys some dinner and let them eat. After they ate, the three of us ordered some food from the lobby and ate it while watching the Olympics.

We all snuggled up before bed in the very comfy beds. Here are a few snaps of me with my boys before bed. As you can tell, Elijah is much more a snuggler than our Isaac, but Isaac did actually come lay next to me on his own accord which is quite an accomplishment.

Sunday morning we dropped Joni off at the airport and then headed home ourselves. We were home by lunchtime.

Today, my dear friend Nancy volunteered at the very last minute to watch the boys while I went to pick Scrubs up at dog camp. I just didn't want them to have to be in the car for nearly three hours again today. Nancy saved the day! When we got home, we played in the yard, came inside, Elijah took a nap, Isaac and I played and did some cleaning up, and then Elijah woke up. It was then lunch time and run time and park time before both boys collapsed post-park. Scrubs obviously played hard while at dog camp over the weekend. Other than our run, he has slept nearly the whole day.

Looking forward to my brother and his wife Adrienne and their daughter Charleigh coming into town this coming weekend.

OK-my daughter saw these pictures just now and called your husband Mrs. Wendi.

Would it be possible to get your husband to post snakebite tips sometime?
