Review: Snuggle Time Psalms

The Psalms are not just for adults! Snuggle Time Psalms which was written by Glenys Nellist and illustrated by Cee Biscoe offers a perfect first introduction to this poetic book.

As always, I am a huge fan of the padded covers, study pages, and compact size which makes it perfect for little ones to take to bed themselves after reading with Dad and Mom.

Each two-page spread offers the look into a certain section of the book of Psalm. It begins by offering a title and then the passage that this comes from.

For example:

In Your Hand
Psalm 95

The Lord is the great God.
He is the greatest King
Psalm 95:3

It then breaks down the Psalm into kids words, told in poetic/rhyming form. You can see this below:

I will sing for joy to you,
Oh Lord and greatest King!
For in your hand you hold the earth,
You're Lord of everything!

You hold the mountains and the hills.
you hold the land and sea.
you are my God and I'm your child,
You're even holding me.

Each two-page spread is beautifully illustrated with animals like a duck mother and her baby, a monkey looking in on a nest of birds, or a safari of animals playing in the water.

So sweet! So peaceful! So calming! And as written on their website: "Beginning with "Bedtime Peace" and ending with "Wonderful Me", this collection of bedtime poems enables young children to discover the One who holds them in his arms, leads them like a shepherd, created them just as they are, and cherishes them with a love that never ends ... snuggle and see."

booklookbloggers.com provided me with a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
