Taco ring:

I have had a few people ask me if the Taco Ring was easy and if they could have the recipe.

First of all, if Wendi cooked it, it was easy.

Secondly, I can't believe I am doing this since posting a recipe sort of goes against everything I stand for as a "typical jock", but here are the easy instructions, courtesy of my friend Erica!

Taco ring:

  • 1/2 - 1 lb. cooked ground beef depending on how bulky you like it
  • 1 pkg taco seasoning
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 2 Tbs water2
  • 8oz pkg crescent roll dough

The rest are just optional sides:

  • 1 med green pepper
  • 1/2 head lettuce, shredded
  • 1 med tomato, diced
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 1/2 cup sliced black olives
  • Sour cream
Instructions:
  • Heat oven to 375° F.
  • Combine meat, taco mix, cheese, and water.
  • Arrange crescent triangles in a circle with bases overlapping and points out.
  • Sompe people leave a 5" circle in center and fill the pepper with salsa for display.
  • Spoon meat on triangle bases. Fold points over meat and tuck under.
  • Bake 20-25 min until brown.
  • Cut off the top of the pepper. Fill pepper with salsa and place in center of ring (if want)
  • Mound lettuce, tomato, onions, and olives around pepper. Garnish with sour cream.
