Why don't Americans ...

... embrace these black-out shutters?

I am sure some people in America use these, but for the most part, they seem constrained to Europe. They are fabulous. I am not talking about weather shutters. These are used for everyday use. They completely black out light (which comes in very handy here when it doesn't get dark until almost 10:30 at night!) Love these things.

The USA needs to get in the game, man!

Love rolladens! I do wish the Germans would have embraced screens as well. You probably have them on base but they don't have them off base. No AC and open windows with no screens = bad news.

My hubby (aka: The Vampire) would looooove these... He's always complaining that there is "too much light" in the house.. Lol!

I am going to miss the rolladens so much when we leave Germany. I worry my kids will not be able to sleep without them

No idea where to get these in AMerica. Is it possible?

But Casey, not having screens is plain silly. Not sure what i'd prefer -- no screens and these or screens without these.
