Because of Isaac Update

It all started with a little boy -- loved by a birth mother, given to a heart mother.

Instantly, we realized the power of the gift we were given. And we were determined that other couples, who lacked the financial resources that we were lucky enough to have, could experience the miracle of adoption. just like we had. God laid the seed in my heart, and laid the organization's name in my husband's heart. And at the very end of 2010, www.becauseofisaac.org was born.

Our first couple was an easy choice: Grant & Elizabeth. JB's older sister and her husband. The Lord has now now provided nearly all of the money for their adoption. Their profile is LIVE on the Bethany Christian Service's website. Check it out! All they are waiting is for a birthmother to choose them.

Then came a different story. A direction we hadn't initially planned for Because of Isaac. Friends of our's from our growing up years with six children of their own. But they needed to raise $10,000 to adopt two Nigerian boys trying to escape the atrocities of their country and come to live in America forever. Nigeria was very near and dear to our heart from our past mission trip there. So we decided to step in and help these two young men:

Abule and Alaowei, live forever with the Fitzgerald family. And as of today, we have helped raised over $6,000 of the $10,000 needed for their adoptions to be finalized.

Then came Ryan & Briana. You can read their story by clicking here.  Ryan & Briana are childless and looking to adopt through Bethany Christian Services. They are in the beginning stages and need to raise a total of $25,000. But even before that, they need $4,500 to be able to complete their home study. Until they reach the $4,500 mark, their adoption is in a holding pattern -- always a difficult place for a waiting couple to be. (Take it from me!)

Earlier this month, I began to feel that way I have felt so many times during Because of Isaac's lifetime. Instead of trusting the Lord, I start thinking: Are we not hearing from you God? Maybe this is too much money to raise? Maybe we thought too big. Maybe we needed to step smaller. What if the money does not come in?

And then, at that moment, God reminds me of the same thing he has reminded me of over and over and over again in my life. It's as if he whispers in my ear: Money is not a problem for God, Wendi.

How could I forget?

I remember when we were in Nigeria. Dr. Chris, (truly the closest person I have ever met to Jesus in the flesh), a small Nigerian man with a heart oozing with Christ, replied to a question about what his greatest need was. "It is not money," he said. "Most people think that would be my answer. Money is easy. It's people that are hard."

So true.

This week, I was reminded of that ... yet again. Very few dollars had come in for Ryan and Briana. And then, in a matter of days? $2,700 came zipping in! Over half of what they need to begin their homestudy. Praise God from whom all blessings flow. They only need 18 more people to make a $100 donation to reach the $4500 goal that will allow them to begin their homestudy! (Maybe you could be one of them?)

Jesus told the people, "...whoever welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me." Thank you to those of you who are being the hands and feet of Jesus on earth.

If you haven't supported our organization, will you help in anyway that you can? If you can give financially, please do so! (And please remember that ANY gift helps. Even ten dollars will make a difference!)

You can find out how to donate to Steve & Teri by clicking here. You can find out how donate to Ryan & Briana by clicking here. Or, you can just email me at flakymn@hotmail.com or wendi@wendikitsteiner.com and I'll answer any questions you have.

If money is not an option for you right now, remember, money is the easy part for God. It's people that are the hard part. Would you help us find people who can donate? Share our organization's name with people who might be interested in helping bring a child home forever. If you can't send $100, could you help raise $100? Or maybe $1,000?

In addition, we now have over 350 likes on our Facebook page. Our new goal is to get 500! Please click here: Because of Isaac if you have not liked our page, and do so today! And then, share it with everyone you can. Spread the story! Spread the word!
