Please vote on a dog name!

Well our dog comes tomorrow. We have narrowed our "choice list" for names down to 6 names. Here they are in alphabetical order.

Dante -- Famous Italian poet
Einstein -- Duh! The scientist silly!
Nevus -- Mole or colored spot on the skin -- "dalmation like" :)
Pollock -- Famous artist who did black and white paintings
Picasso -- Another Duh! The artist silly!
Scrubs -- Fun medical word!

I'm not promising we'll pick what people vote form but we would like your help. What do you guys think?!

FINAL RESULTS
Scrubs 55.1% (43 votes)
Dante 24.4% (19 votes)
Picasso 7.7% (6 votes)
Einstein 5.1% (4 votes)
Pollock 5.1% (4 votes)
Nevus 2.6% (2 votes)

oh please, please, no nevus or scrubs. i voted for pollock (like the black/white theme), but am fairly anti-strange names. i think you could expand the name options.

What ... no option for Spot?!?

Looking forward to meeting your new little guy!!!

Tara, you have to give reasons for your opinion.

As far as expanding, we DID expand. This is the condensed version. We only have six hours left. We have to move forward quickly! :)

I'm for Scrubs-think it's great(sorry,Tara)And since it seems that all little ones (kids or pets) end up with nick names that end in "e" Johnny, Katie etc.,Scrubby would be cute. (and since it is the name of a tv series, there's a slight literary angle to the name(for tradition's sake) Pollack is fishy sounding, Einstein would have silly nick-names, and Dante makes me think of an inferno...so there, you have my vote

Can I vote again? I REALLY like Scrubs; it's so appropos. Besides, if you call him nevus (is that with a long or short e??)people will always ask you "What??!)If it is pronounced with a long e- will rhyme with Beevus and you know what comes next. Picasso would work ----if he was missing an ear:) Ok, I'm stopping now.Just call me when you pick him up:)

I have heard that dogs don't respond well to one-syllable names-- their ears need to hear two to register they're being called. I'm not making this up. But I don't know... I am okay with being overruled :). But can I see the expanded version of choices? :)

Well, we outsted:

Rembrandt
Othello
Tolkien
Domino
Galileo
Beowoof

lol ... that's all I can think of right now. We can't move backwards or our dog will be nameless forever. What would YOU name a dog Tara? :)

I'm with Mom K. Scrubs has my vote. "artistic" names seem pompous to me. (just my opinion of course) I like a good old dog name, like "Sport", that's my dog's name, and Tara, it's one syllable, and he always comes when I call. :) Mom K you are right about the "e" thing. Sport's nickname? Sporty

Hi Wendi,
Maybe you should wait until you meet the dog.
He could be a quiet dog or a barker. He could be reallly mellow or hyper. Sometimes you just need to see the dog in real life to know what it's name will be.

Karen, not a bad idea. I think we will do this.

I actually like "Domino" (but maybe that's due to my affection for the Mexican Trains game) :) Othello isn't too bad either although a bit pretentious. I always wanted to name my dog "Pepper," but we ended up with Toccata, Duncan, and Freya. My Dad's choices (Fang and Igor) were vehemently vetoed. I'm trying to think of black and white things. How about "Oreo" ? :) He he.

But if you end up going with "Scrubs," I will come visit and whisper my own private name for the pooch in it's ear and confuse the heck out of your doggie :)

I vote for Moron! As in: "Hey MORON, stop peeing one the carpet!"

Sorry if that offends someone. I just remember my Dad yelling that at me when I was 12!

Ha ha! Funny you suggested Oreo, Tara. I was just coming here to say the same thing.

You might want to stay away from Dante (and the inferno bit) . . . . Sometimes the dog's personality tends to grow into it's name. . .
