Christmastime & New friends

I think that we are going to get to go home for Christmas! We really weren't sure. John had gotten word that he had Saturday and Sunday off. Then, one of his classmates told him that he would cover his rounds on Christmas morning. So that only left Monday -- Christmas Eve. Word came down yesterday that, in fact, he was covered on Christmas Eve as well. So, if all goes as planned, we'll get to spend the holidays in sunny Fort Lauderdale.

We thought about surprising the family. Well, surprising the Kits. at least. I don't like to surprise my mom and dad since we stay with them and having someone drop in for four days, with a dog, isn't necessarily a good thing. But in the end, we opted to call Mom and Dad Kit. today and tell them that we are coming home. It's best that way. Secrets exhaust me sometimes.

Home for the holidays! Hip-hip-horray.

Last night we spent the evening with three couples from the "older generation" of residents on Eglin. There were four couples in total, two of which attend our weekly Bible Study. It was wonderful to really hang out and meet some new people and great Christian couples. We had a wonderful night hanging out.

Totally random thought: I watched Mr. Holand's Opus on TV today. What a great movie.

Another random thought: Our neighbors have a leak in their laundry room, and the housing department has decided it is too much work to fix it so instead, they have to MOVE. How much does that stink? Even more reason we should not paint our living room after all.

I LOVE that movie but I don't think I've ever seen it from the very beginning! I cry at the ending every time I watch it!!!
