Broken Dreams
As children bring their broken toys
With tears for us to mend,
I brought my broken dreams to God
Because He was my Friend.
But then instead of leaving Him
In peace to work alone,
I hung around and tried to help
With ways that were my own.
At last I snatched them back and cried,
"How can you be so slow"--
"My child," He said, "what could I do?
You never did let go."

I couldn't help but think of Joseph and his dream, as you wrote: God gave that dream to him --his dream came true but not in the way He planned but far beyond what He could imagine...it included suffering, loneliness, times of wondering where God was, times of temptation -but somehow God worked in His heart so that He could know that God was at work in what was happening to Him, and trust Him and cling to Him and obey Him...He had a wonderful plan for Joseph and loved him dearly; Joseph let God use His life; it wasn't easy tho --because of sin in the world what was meant for evil, He would use for good because Joseph was willing to trust; I think he grew along the way don't you? God also had a plan for God's people and for all of us in history, thru Joseph's relationship with God and thru his dream!....i know you have a heart like Joseph so don't totally let go of your dreams? --maybe, we are just learning to let go of wanting them/making them happen the way we think best /fair. You are letting Him shape and guide and use you so beautifully. I'm so sorry for the glitches and disappointments along the way -you are beautiful -and so loved.
