Feeling the holiday crunch

All of a sudden, I am feeling a bit overwhelmed with everything we need to do to get ready for our trip to Florida, guests, our cruise, and then another trip for me to Florida. Some of the highlights of my "need to do's" include:
  • Need to attend dog class tonight.
  • Need to bake six dozen cookies for cookie exchange tomorrow.
  • Need to find gifts to give as white elephant presents at Bible Study party tomorrow.
  • Need to find a few extra gifts to bring for white elephant presents since I was in charge of the entertainment for the party and if people forget a gift, we still want them to be able to participate.
  • Need to help JB make dish for Bible Study party tomorrow.
  • Need to finish mailing Christmas cards.
  • Need to keep working full-time.
  • Need to keep exercising and walking dog.
  • Need to submit grant for RLS by tomorrow at 5pm.
  • Need to finish up a little more shopping.
  • Need to pack.
  • Need to call Expedia. I can't find our itinerary for our rental car! Ugh!
Amidst all this, our dog's skin is really acting up. This may mean that I will "Need to" take him to the vet in the next few days. JB and I actually got into a bit of an argument over this. Here's how the events transpired:
  • JB tells Wendi to give Scrubs 3 Benadryl a day.
  • Wendi does.
  • Skin gets better.
  • Wendi decides to drop Benadryl to 2 and then 1 a day because Scrubs is doing so well.
  • Skin gets worse.
  • JB tells Wendi to increase Benadryl back to 3 a day.
  • Wendi does.
  • Skin stays worse.
  • JB does some research online and consults his own medical brain.
  • JB tells Wendi to weigh Scrubs.
  • Wendi does.
  • Scrubs weighs 58 pounds.
  • JB tells Wendi to start giving Scrubs 2 Benadryl, 3 times a day.
  • Wendi wrinkles her nose.
  • JB rolls his eyes.
  • Wendi asks JB if he is sure.
  • He is sure.
  • Wendi asks JB if he would consider talking to his fellow resident who is a vet.
  • JB asks Wendi if she trusts him.
  • She says yes.
  • (She doesn't completely mean it)
  • He doesn't believe she trusts him.
  • JB says something like, "Do you know I am doctor?"
  • Wendi says something like, "For humans."
  • JB says, "I treat people. He is a dog."
  • Wendi replies, "Right, they are different."
  • JB: "Do you think I am a moron?"
  • Wendi hesitates for a second.
  • Okay, she didn't hesitate.
  • I just added that for effect.
  • Wendi tells JB that she does not think he is a moron.
  • JB tells Wendi to trust him.
  • JB leaves for work.
  • Wendi begins giving Scrubs 2 Benadryl at a time.
  • Scrubs begins sleeping all day every day.
  • Skin starts getting better.
  • John was right.
  • Again.

Have you tried Brewer's Yeast with Garlic pills for Scrubs? Our dogs don't have a problem like you've described for him, but we use them for their skin & coats (mostly to keep away fleas, because we don't use Frontline or anything). I seem to remember, however, that it's recommended for itchy skin, too....
