Enchanted

Yesterday was a great day! JB got off a bit early so we headed to the dogpark in Niceville with our already very-dirty dog. We haven't bathed him in a longer-than-usual amount of time because of his skin allergy which still isn't going away. We had to increase the Benadryl back to three a day (too bad for me, huh?!)

On the way, we stopped at the bank and post office to get a bank check and resend our Immigration paperwork. The paperwork is finally on its way . . . again.

After getting back to the house and giving Scrubs a much-needed bath, we decided to go get some dinner and a movie. JB loves sushi. I, do not love sushi. I, actually, loathe sushi. Blah! So we are always looking for a place that you can get sushi while not sitting at the sushi bar. We also look for a place that serves other food that is as good as its sushi so I have something to eat. Someone, and for the life of me, I cannot remember who, recommended Siam Sushi in the Destin Commons shopping area. This is a wonderful outdoor shopping area that we always take guests too -- especially at Christmas when it is decorated so festively. It's hard to have Christmas without it being too cold or having snow, but people down here give it their best shot.

Anyways, this sushi place was GREAT! Not only do they serve outstanding sushi (according to JB), but they have an extended menu offering selections in Thai, Japanese, and American. The ambiance was great. The service was great. I strongly recommend this place for our sushi-eating friends. It was wonderful!

We topped off the evening by going to see the movie Enchanted. Folks, go see this movie! I am giving it an exceptional review. It is great for the entire family, and we couldn't help but remark throughout the movie how much our niece Grace (who is goo-goo about "princesses") would love this movie. Very clean, very fun, and just an all-around wonderful movie. JB loved it just as much as I did. The only downside to the experience was that there was a family sitting behind us who brought her two-year-old. Now I don't mind this. It's a kids' movie so you should be able to bring your kids. But when the two-year-old starting crying, and crying, and crying, and then stood up in between JB and my head (literally!) crying, and they still didn't take her out, I'd get a tad bit frustrated. Eventually the mom gave up and headed out to appease her with some sticky goodness. Thank goodness!

P.S. Oh, and it doesn't hurt that they added Patrick Dempsey (aka "Dr. Mcdreamy") to the cast. He's a tad bit good looking! :)

Tara's visiting you guys in February? What fun! I thought of you today - there is a new restaurant in town called "Avocados", and they don't have a freezer...everything is made fresh from fresh fruits and veggies for the sauces and things like that. I think you guys would like it! :)
