Turkish Friends

There will always be something special about the people we were in Turkey with. It's like we understand a code that no one else understands. We can remember our life there without having to explain it.

Randy and Pam arrived on the same rotator to Turkey as we did back in 2010. Over the next two years, we never really hung out with them, but we saw each other all over on Base. We liked to joke that we must be very similar people because we always seemed to be at the same place at the same time. I cannot tell you how many conversations we had with each in the cereal aisle in the Commissary!

How excited we were to learn that Randy & Pam were moving to the Azores just a few weeks ahead of us! They have an adorable little doggie named Zillie and live on Base. Pam is a civilian contractor which means that they aren't actually in the military. Her husband Randy works on Base as well. They are great people, and we had them over for a bbq on Saturday afternoon. Pam is one of those women that kids are just drawn to as you can see from the photos below:

She started playing "Ring around the Rosie" with the boys, and Abigail came over to join in.
When they did "All Fall Down" Abigail didn't know what to make of things and sought comfort with Ms. Pam.
A semi-successful photo!
