Test Day

My Aunt Sue sent me this scripture via Facebook this morning. I took it from a different translation than I ever use: The Message, which is written in very straight-forward English. It really moved me and helped me feel the warmth and security of the Lord's arms at a time in my life that I really need it.

JB is getting ready to take his test this morning. I must admit that I have not been a very supportive wife as he prepared for his test. I think, somewhere subconsciously, I thought that once we got everything out of our home in Eglin and got situated here in South Florida for a few weeks, that the stress that was accompanying our move would be miraculously lifted. I also think that I blocked out the fact that JB was going to have to study during the majority of his free time during the first week and a half we were here.

I am trying to simply kick my feet up and ride the wave of this move and the changes with the boys and JB transitioning into a new job and everything that comes with it. Please continue to pray that I wide this wave successfully.

And please pray for JB today as well. Pray for him all day. Pray that the Lord brings everything he has learned during three years of residency back to his memory. While already a licensed physician, this test is the final step to being a "Board Certified Physician."

Thanks everyone. And thanks Aunt Sue for this scripture.

Isaiah 54:11-17 (The Message)

"Afflicted city, storm-battered, unpitied:
I'm about to rebuild you with stones of turquoise,
Lay your foundations with sapphires,
construct your towers with rubies,
Your gates with jewels,
and all your walls with precious stones.
All your children will have God for their teacher—
what a mentor for your children!
You'll be built solid, grounded in righteousness,
far from any trouble—nothing to fear!
far from terror—it won't even come close!
If anyone attacks you,
don't for a moment suppose that I sent them,
And if any should attack,
nothing will come of it.
I create the blacksmith
who fires up his forge
and makes a weapon designed to kill.
I also create the destroyer—
but no weapon that can hurt you has ever been forged.
Any accuser who takes you to court
will be dismissed as a liar.
This is what God's servants can expect.
I'll see to it that everything works out for the best."
God's Decree.
