Pictures from the trip

We are home! And, as promised, here are pictures from the trip.

First, our set-up in the car. Tiffany and I are in the front, driving, JB and Matt are occupying the middle, and little William gets the whole back seat (stuck inbetween all kinds of luggage.)

We arrived on Wednesday evening and had a nice dinner at Carabba's. On Thursday, after the first day of testing, we found a great Moroccan restaurant. There was a belly dancer that little William was quite impressed with. Here are some photos from our dinner on Thursday evening.

On Friday, the guys finished testing later than they hoped. We just had a few hours of daylight left so we did some driving. Despite the Blueridge being closed (bummer!) we got to see some beautiful spots. The boys were really hungry so we ate a quick dinner at a little hamburger joint. We did a good job only eating one time per day and eating out of our cooler the other two meals.
Here are some photos from our road trip on Friday.

On Saturday, we spent the entire day at the Biltmore. Let me sidetrack a bit by saying, being military offers some great perks. In the end, we saved over $300 a couple on this trip on hotel discounts and discounts to the Estate! So many places offer discounts and Biltmore was especially great -- $10 off per entrance fee!
We couldn't take any pictures in the house, but here are some pictures from outside and around the gardens. (Just imagine these in the spring or summer!)

After touring the house, we found an awesome little restaurant on the estate to eat at. You can probably tell how good Tiffany and I felt from this photo. I was trying to be a good sport, but man, I did not feel well!

After lunch, it was time to tour the winery. Matt, Tiff, and JB did a wine tasting, while the two non-drinkers (William and myself) decided to bond in the gift shop.

After the tasting, it was off to the farm to see some animals and have some ice cream.

Despite the fact that Tiffany, William, and I were VERY under-the-weather, JB was sort-of under-the-weather, and Matt was recovering from being under-the-weather, we had a wonderful time! Now, back to the real world.

Matt sure does look like Dave. When I saw the first picture I just glanced at it and was wondering when you got to see them.
