Write today and change a life in Cuba!

“I know that I’ll never meet you … I’ll never read your cards again, but know that you are in my heart.”

That’s what Dr Paneque wanted to tell everyone from the UK and around the world who sent him incredibly encouraging cards using CSW’s Connect & Encourage booklet.

Dr Paneque was a prisoner in Cuba because of his frequent reporting on human rights abuses as an independent journalist. While he was in the terrible conditions of the prison, he was sent hundreds of letters from around the world that he shared to encourage the other prisoners who had also defended human rights.

“A prisoner who receives those letters, those messages, grows, strengthens and has faith.”

He was clearly overwhelmed with gratitude for these letters and cards when we saw him in person over summer 2012. What’s more, he wanted us to tell all the Christians we know that you should never doubt the value of sending cards to a prisoner or someone facing hardship because of their faith! Send one today and impact a life – and probably a whole church community - in Cuba!

“You cannot imagine the worth of a letter. You cannot imagine the worth of some words of encouragement.”

Change someone’s life today – just by sending them a card! In tough circumstances people need your encouragement and reassurance. Help them persevere with your encouraging words!
