Review: Love Letters from God

The NIrV Love Letters from God Bible invites kids to read their own personal mail from God. This hard cover Bible is pretty typical from front to back. However, sprinkled throughout the pages are letters from God. These letters are written for the reader and will hopefully allow a child to see how much they are loved by their Creator.

Not only is there a love letter from God featured on 80 different pages throughout the Bible, but then there is a spot where the child can "write back" to God. For example, on page 518 of this Bible, is a letter from God which reads

Do you know the story of Job? Job was rich. He had everything anyone could ever want. He was happy. Until one day Job lost everything including his family. But do you know the one thing Job held on to? He held onto his faith in me. Even though he went through some very hard times, the one thing that could never be taken away from Job was hope. Job's story has a happy ending -- and so will yours.

Following this, there is a space for the child to answer this question:

Have you had some hard times? What helped you? Write to God about it.

There is also a Bible verse at the bottom of the page:

And darkness will become like morning. You will be secure, because there is hope. (Job 11:17-18)

Overall, I found this to be a nice, simple Bible. I really thought it could have used even more of the letters scattered throughout, but parents will not be disappointed with this choice for a first Bible for your reading child.

Booklookbloggers.com provided me with a free copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.
