From JB: Just a simple warning... When you grab a Brown Water Snake (Nerodia taxispilota), like I did while repairing a dam wall on one of our ponds, be aware that they are not venomous but can release a "foul-smelling musk" that will make your wife dry heave and will not wash off with repeated washings with soap, simple green, bleach, and even listerine!
From Wendi: I cannot possibly put into words the odor that was on my husband's hands. I was sitting in the passenger seat of our huge F-250, and I had to ride with my head out the window. It was SO BAD. I have never, ever, smelled anything that vile ever. My husband, was equally grossed out. (And he has to do and smell some REALLY gross stuff as a doctor!)
