How to stand alongside a grieving person

I write a lot on this blog about grief. My mom just sent me a link to a song that finally "got it." This is what grief is. People in grief will, most likely, eventually, be okay, but while grieving, all they need is someone to be with them ... to cry with them ... to love them ... and to help them carry their sadness.
