Today was Isaac's first time on keyboard at "grown-up" church. He has been doing worship in 180 (their youth group) for a couple of years now, but there was a need at our Afton Campus so he stepped in.
We have three campuses with our church: main campus, South Greene (at South Greene High School) and Afton (at Chuckey Doak High School.) Recently, our church decided to go to one service at each location instead of two services. With three campuses, the volunteers were beings stretched very think. When they did this, they asked for long-time families at our main campus to consider switching to Afton or South Greene as visitors often first come to the main campus. Our family decided to switch to Afton. It is about a 35 minute drive (instead of 25), but our church has it in their vision to eventually have a campus in a fourth location. This would be West Greene and would be near to us. We would definitely make the move there. So we thought "practicing" be at a "remote" location would be practical.
We still do attend main campus when there is something there that pulls us in (primarily a baptism of a friend).
The boys have been doing sound 2x a month at Afton and now Isaac is doing worship too. I continue to serve at church by writing. I love it. I write for their Blog which you can check out here.
