It's always shocking to me that my husband, someone hired to care for sick people, has NO "sick days." Truly, outside of COVID which forced him to take days off, he has literally been at work hooked up to IV-meds for migraines or very sick with an illness. There is absolutely no sick call. It has never made sense to me, but it boils down that the only way to get a sick day is to ask another doctor, who is finally off with their family, to come in. And NO ONE wants to do that. It's truly so ironic to me ... care for sick people but don't get sick.
