Kona Goes to Her Forever Home

We have fallen in love with breeding our Aussies. It is truly one of the things that brings every single member of our family such HUGE joy.

Letting the puppies go is always bitter sweet. My kids know, from the ONSET that there is ZERO percent chance we will keep any. We are raising these puppies to bring joy to other people. (It is also a nice way to offset some farm costs for the year.)

Yesterday morning, We took the following pictures in preparation for saying good bye to "Kona" who will grow up to look just like her Mommy:

Kona was going to a high school friend of both John and myself: Kara. We were hoping Kara and her family could come to the farm, but they live in Ohio and with all the virus stuff, we found a way to get the dog a wee bit closer for them.

My local friend Kristin was making a trip to Charleston, West Virginia. I dropped the puppy off with her and her two daughters and they met my friend Kara and her daughter in a Target parking lot to exchange the goods. They had a great time traveling with Kona in preparation for her new home.

And then that video. Kara's daughter thought she was going to get the puppy next week. But this was a complete surprise that it was happening THIS DAY!

We have watched the look of joy on her face over and over and over again. It makes us want to keep doing this again and again. :)
