We Bought a Farm: Packing

There is something incredibly wonderful and intensely comforting about knowing that the things you are packing will stay with you when you move. You will not put them on a big truck two months before you actually move. You will not wait in your new home for months on end for those things to arrive. You will load them into a truck yourself, and you will drive that truck, and you will unload that truck.

While it was nice to have movers come in and take care of everything for you, I am loving the fact that I don't need to create tiers of packing. I do not need items that will go in the small shipment, items that will go in the big shipment, items that will go on the plane, items that will go in boxes.

Freeing. Liberating. So much easier!

In addition, we've been packing and moving stuff since we bought our farm last year and so we are down to probably just about half of our stuff. This will also make our final push easier.

I am still completely in awe that one week from today will be the last time we move, hopefully ever, but at least for the foreseeable future.

We have moved 10 times in 20 years.

One more to go.

To our forever home.

I am giddy with excitement. I am really not scared. I just want to be there. I want our new life in our new home on our new farm to begin.

To East Tennessee we go.

P.S. We are currently working on overhauling my Blog. We will be moving it to a new site where will readers will receive different levels of access. If you have NO emailed me already to add yourself to my "insiders" please do so. I don't have to know you personally. I just want to limit insider access to people who have been reading my Blog for awhile and who I feel I can "trust" with a little bit more information than I will be giving the general public. Leave a comment or send me an email: flakymn@hotmail.com. You must include your email address for me to add you.
