On the island, trucks come through neighborhoods. They beep their horns and slow down. Sort of like an ice cream truck. But instead of music, they beep their horn. Which is only slightly less annoying.
You can buy stuff out of these trucks. Produce and bread are the most common. Sometimes people come around selling fish.
Our Wednesday truck has mostly produce but also has essentials you might have run out on -- paper towels and soda and snacks and such.
I have been noticing, however, that for regularly costumers, if they are not at home, their bread order is simply hung on their door.
It's a nice way to grocery shop.
