We Bought A Farm: Onions

What do you do when someone gives you a truckload of onions but your pigs don't want to eat them?

You experiment.

It appears that if I cut them in half and roast them to nearly black in the oven, they will tolerate them.

Feeding pigs is expensive. We are constantly searching for alternative feeding options. We cannot afford to feed our pigs organically so we attempt to feed them as healthy as we can.

Right now we are working to downsize our herd. We may possibly stop doing pigs altogether. They are the most work and the most trouble by far!

Never thought I'd be willing to roast onions all day just to feed them to a bunch of pigs.
