So, before I show this video, a little background. Scrubs has two leashes that he uses. The first is a blue leash. It is called a "gentle leader." This leash goes around his nose. It gives us control as he has to pull with his nose instead of his neck. Scrubs . . . HATES his gentle leader. However, we don't leave home without it. If we go for a walk or run, he wears it.
Scrubs' other leash is one of those black "automatic leashes". It hooks to his neck and doesn't bother him in the slightest. He can pull with his neck which means he is in control. He loves his black leash. I use the black leash for a potty break or for a quick trip to check the mail or walk to the bay.
I've been telling JB that our dog is becoming wise to which leash I pull out. So John decided to test it. Check it out:

That is so perfect. It would have been a riot to have a video of coach and I trying to get that gentle leader on him when we took care of him. Yikes. Weren't you going to try a new one?
Unfortunately, he is allergic to the metal in pinch collars so we don't really hae a choice.
haha thats great

The blue one probably hurts his little nose. poor guy.
No, the blue one doesn't hurt him. It only bothers him because he pulls. If he walked like a normal pup and didn't pull, he wouldn't have to wear it ... stubborn dog.
yea but he's a normal pup...don't they all pull?
No actually. Not all pups are big pullers. Some walk by your side without any problem. The other thing is, nearly any dog who is 'big' needs a pinch collar or a gentle leader. I am yet to see anyone who walks their dog consistently not use one. If you watch the dog shows, they ALL use them on the bigger dogs. They are just too strong to walk. I canNOT walk him without one. Literally, he will pull me over!
