Any of the Tom Hanks/Meg Ryan movies-Sleepless in Seattle, You've Got Mail, Joe vs. The Volcano. Another great one is While You Were Sleeping, with Sandra Bullock. I know, they're pretty much "chick flicks" but my husband tolerated watching them and actually likes them:)
Rachel is right...The Illusionist is fantastic! If your aunt goes to IMDb on the web, she can research LOTS of movies...according to genre and even decade! What movie is "good" is rather subjective...if she goes to the movie data base, she can select a movie to fit her mood. Hope this helps!
THANKS Wen and friends! :) I loved Bruce Almighty so we will try Evan Almighty -- i'm curious about the Illusionist and The Last Kind of Scotland. This was a GREAT help - what Anonymous said... below -I'll give it to Oom Ed -you're right -I seldom make movie recommendations -as they are really subjective -but this was fun! Rachel is right...The Illusionist is fantastic! If your aunt goes to IMDb on the web, she can research LOTS of movies...according to genre and even decade! What movie is "good" is rather subjective. We have found a "series" we are really enjoying when you only want something an hour -not 2 and 1/2. So far, season 1 so good -Called BallyKissAngel! love Tante Jan
Now that I said I don't usually give movie recommendations -i'll give another one i loved -- but i'm "blank" -so maybe it can be a trivia question - it's about boxing - it has Russell Crowe in it! i'm glad i saw it at home and could fast forward thru some of the boxing -ouch -but it's a really neat story -history of our country and awesome character development. I'd own this film. xo Tante jan

I liked Bruce Almighty and Evan Almighty. Not sure they would go for those.
The Painted Veil
Here are some of my top picks:
"The Prestige"
"Batman Begins"
"Walk the Line"
Any of the Ocean's movies - 11, 12, 13 - all good!
I've heard Evan Almighty is really good.
"Something the Lord Made"
"Patch Adams"
"Sense and Sensibility"
