Abigail's Gymnasicts Debut!

Watching the Olympics in another country can be good and bad. It inspires real "spirit" for your home country and sometimes, the time change can work to your advantage. However, lately, we have been having trouble watching the games. Well, we can watch them, but they are in Portuguese. It is especially frustrating when they are speaking English in the background and Portuguese is dubbed over. (I try to listen through them but it is harder than you think.) We are feverishly working to get our AFN (military stations) up and running. Until then, we are forced to watch it in Portuguese.

We tried to get the NBC download. Unfortunately, that is only available if you live in the States with American cable!

Either way, Nick and Kristy had us over to their house for an "Opening Ceremony Party." It was great fun. It did start late here (8pm), but we have found we are getting used to "island life" and leaving the kids up way longer than what we would normally do. Life here is just different. It's laid back. It's chill. It's relaxed. And we are loving embracing that life.

Here is the shirt Sidge picked out to celebrate America. (I didn't get one of Isaac. He chose to wear a blue and orange shirt which he said was close enough to red.)

This is a little dress I had found for Abigail at our thrift store in Turkey before we left.

And, in honor of the olympics, here is Abigail making her gymnasics debut. First, she plans her move.

Time to make her mount.

Her toes are pointed here but otherwise form is pretty stellar.

And now she is going to refuse to dismount.
