We bought a farm: A visit "home"

This past weekend, JB had plans to go with his Dad and the boys to the farm. He had to get some of our utilities switched over and had to meet with one of the directors of the local emergency rooms. He was just going to go for a night, but at the last minute, he talked all the girls to going as well. Not only the girls (me, his mom, and his daughters) jumped on board, but we also decided to take Scrubs and let him "meet" the farm for the first time.

JB did a post on all the amazing things he found during our three days actually living at our future home. You can click here to read JB's post on his Permaculture website.

We actually got to stay in our future "forever" home as we now have the keys and actually, really, own it! JB and I decided to bunk with all the kids in one room (the boys future room), and we had an awesome time listening to JB tell Stories about "Once upon a time there were four little kids and they were superheroes."

On Sunday, right before we headed home, JB and I had the chance to take a hike all the way up to the top of the ridge with Scrubs. The hike is more like a "climb" in spots, and I fell more than one time. But the feeling of walking for an hour and being on your own land, in your own woods, with a dog who is doing what dogs are born to do, was beyond words.

I really don't know how to put into words the feeling we have knowing that this is where we will raise our family. The roads are dark. The sky is darker. The silence as we lay down to sleep at night is almost  eerie.

We have bought a farm. We have no regrets. And we can't WAIT to get there (for good!)

Scrubs was like a new puppy! He was pouncing and sprinting and galloping and peeing on every single tree that he could. Here is a video of Scrubs living it up.

I am so jealous! Blessings on your new home and may all the joys and adventures be wonderful! And if you ever need a garlic growing connection, please let me know! Just wish you were close enough to share all my perennials!

The Farm is beautiful. I might be a bit biased as I am a Tennessean by birth! Who would have thought of you and John living on a farm all of those years back in Franklin!!! I so wish you and your sweet little family so much happiness as you roam freely on your farm!
