We decided to hit the Munich zoo this morning. Such a beautiful place! Loved it. Here are some pictures from the fun:
This bird went on JB's arm. And later, when it flew onto another woman, JB saved her. What a guy!
Is that a smirk?
I volunteered to take the kiddos to this playground (see both pictures above)while everyone else finished eating. But it was so crowded and this particular play area so large, that I quickly felt overwhelmed with both boys running in different directions. At first I asked Mom to help me. I could tell that Dad and JB were like, "What's the big deal How hard is it to watch two little kids?" But when Mom still felt we weren't having success, she recruited the men to help. They joined us to try and help and quickly said, "This makes us too nervous." Okay, so it wasn't just me. I totally felt that my chances of losing a child were WAY too high. We left when we realized all four of us felt over our heads.
This wobbly bridge was another not-so-good experience. JB took the boys by himself, and they were NOT happy when other kids started shaking the bridge.
It sounds like the zoo was not a fun experience based on these first four pictures. This goat took his funky horns and horned JB. LOL.
These two cows reminded me of my boys. I don't know why, but as they stood there together, they just seemed to be representing by two little men.
See the apple in this picture?
Any idea what we are looking at here?
Here's the answer. We are looking at the bunny and guinea pigs eating the apple that Isaac accidentally (and very sadly) dropped into their pen. Good thing we had an extra apple to give Isaac.
This was one of those tough Mom moments. These cars cost 2 euros to ride (almost $3). We couldn't even be sure that the boys would want to ride once we paid the money. (And trying to request your money back in another language is not a good idea.) We decided that the zoo was enough adventure and we wouldn't ride the cars that day. Elijah took it in stride (on right.) But poor Isaac (left) was incredibly hurt. I hate this part of parenting.
This face is just so Elijah. I love it.
Elijah giving the goat a try. I don't think either of them are too sure about this.
My silly boy. Isaac is either feast or famine. He is either a total goof or totally serious. There is very little in between.
The zoo was really beautiful. And EVERYONE brought their dog. At one point we met another couple with a dog. The boys wanted to pet it (which people don't seem to do very much.) The woman said it was fine. When we told her we had a dog at home, she looked shocked. "Who is watching it?" she asked. You could tell that not taking your dogs with you was so strange to them. But bringing one to the zoo? Isn't that strange?
Daddy and boy checking the flamingos.
Dad was such an incredible sport. He was always helping with a kid or pushing one stroller or another.
JB and his boys. I love this picture.
And here's another one of Elijah ... just kidding.
These things are huge! Dad and Mom realized that this is the first time they have ever seen a polar bear live and in person!
