This is the first time Dad and Mom have left the USA. It is so fun to watch them seeing things that we have seen so many times. It is a reminder of how amazing things actually are. It is easy to stop appreciating the history and architecture and culture after you see it so often, but watching people see it all for the first time brings it all back. Dad and Mom are like kids in a candy shop taking pictures and videos of anything. Here is Munich through their eyes (all pictures they took):
Their first time in a "real" cathedral.
Lots of trips down stairs with the strollers.
Mom loved the way the housekeepers made up the boys' beds.
Here is a picture of Leah with her fiancee' Owain (Owen).
Dad has a real touch with Abigail. She loves him.
Enjoying some great German food.
Outside our hotel in Munich: Uhland.
Beauty in the simple things. Flowers in windows make all the difference.
Dad enjoying the fall elaves.
Mom (who doesn't drink AT ALL) goofing around in the German Pub. Dad thought this was great.
Oh driving in Munich! How many times Dad had to get out to direct me through tight places, between cars and walls.
Dad and JB love trying all the different kinds of beer in Germany and Austria.
How funny is this?
A meat store in Munich.
Look at this beautiful flower display at the outdoor market in Germany.
Mom with her oldest son -- the second oldest of her six children.
Leah with Dad in Ratskeller.
Dad burping Abigail in Ratskeller.
Hard to believe Leah and I met in 1997 and then lost touch in 1999. Twelve years later we found each other on Facebook and realized we only lived a few countries apart.
The boys love having Grampa all to themselves!
Not sure what we would do in restaurants and cafe's without cars for the boys to play with.
After feeding Abigail in Ratskeller. Oh she is such a sweetie pie. The boys call her "our little cutie pie."
Some cool doors.
Laughs with Grampa K. The boys took right to Grampa and Grama despite the fact that Elijah was only 18 months when he last saw them. Technology and photos make all the difference.
