Last weekend we had a neighborhood block party. There are eight houses on our street and we all decided to have a cook-out together. More and more families decided to join in and before we knew it, we probably had well over fifty people (not counting children) there to celebrate the last day before school starts. I've included just a few picture from the festivities, but if you want to see my entire album on Facebook, you can click here.
Fun times! The great thing about Turkey is that while the middle of the day is very hot, the early morning and evenings drop into the 70's. It's great!
Some of the party attendees.
Leave it to teenagers to celebrate in their own way.
JB spent two days working on his ribs.
My boys hanging out with the grill master.
Brooke showing off her skills in the jumpy castle rented for the event.
This is our neighbor Jay who just returned from deployment. People don't deploy often from this Base as we are considered "deployed in place" but Jay had to go due to need. His wife Athena and daughter Brooke (and not pictured daughter Brittney) missed him terribly and are so glad to have him home.
Abigail expressing her feelings for Linda taking her picture too much. :)
My boys enjoying the jumpy castle that Athena rented.
The gal holding Abigail is my next door neighbor Emily. And that's her husband Tom. They are leaving for Japan this fall. I will really miss her smiling face and "tell it like it is" attitude!
