Possession Book Review

I recently read and am now sharing my review of: Possession by Rene Gutteride.* As many of you may recall from reading some of my past recommendations, you know that I am always a little leery of Christian fiction. Don’t get me wrong. I am a Christian. And I like fiction. But sometimes it just seems that the two don’t meet well together. Add to that the fact that this book is a thriller, a murder mystery of sorts, and I thought I might be really out of my league.

But Possession, despite being a mixture of Christian and fiction and a thriller, met my needs well. I actually found myself reading a book I thought I wouldn't like much later into the evening that I should have been. (Both for the fact that I was tired and for the fact that reading a thriller in the dark can be a bit disconcerting!)

"In the aftermath of investigating the D.C. sniper case, detective Vance Graegan is burned out on life and live. Hoping to save his marriage, he quite the force and moves his wife and son to the other side of the country.” It is on the other side of the country that this book is set and it is where the thrilling action takes place.

My overall review of the book was that it was, at times, a little outlandish in possibility, but despite that, I still found myself flippnig page after page. I also enjoyed the fact that while a book with a mission, the message of faith was presented in a very natural way into the book. It didn’t seemed to be shoved between the covers which can often be the case.

If you like fiction and especially thrillers, you will enjoy Rene Gutteridge’s seventeenth book: Possession where love meets murder and “a little boy’s innocent faith brings of group of desperate people to their knees.”
