I wanted to share this post by a fellow writer over at THE GLORIOUS TABLE. I am constantly striving to not let my stuff ever outrank the people I love. It is tough when one of my children, whom I love as much as anything I ever thought possible, break something that I value. It is just a THING. It shouldn't be important than people. How do you make sure you keep that in focus? This really parallels with THE SLOW LIFE series that I am frequently writing on. I want to remember to keep life simple. This means simplifying activities AND things.

“The earth is the Lord’s, and everything in it, the world, and all who live in it.” (Psalm 24:1 NIV)
You may have heard it in an annual sermon on giving at church: everything we have and everyone on earth is God’s, not ours. The beautiful thing is, it’s true! Our belongings are essentially on loan from our gracious Creator. The real question is, do we live as though we know it’s true? What does it mean for how we live in relationship to our possessions? For how we live in relationship with those we love?
