Patty & Troy

Troy (age 7) made this bracelet for Abigail today. We have known this amazing family since we were stationed together on Elgin AFB. Life then brought us to Turkey where we bonded over our isolation and homesickness and yummy food. I had Abigail and Patty had her Troy during that 1.5 years, and we’ve been fast friends ever since.

She and her husband Yamil (a fellow former military doctor like JB) also adopted one of our pups: Finn. He was a blue Merle born in our first litter. Here’s one of my favorite pictures of Finn:

We have spent the last few days homeschooling and bonding over ballet. Patty, after all, gave Abigail her very first ballet tutu as a little baby and told me she’d be a dancer one day!!! Crazy huh?

Once a professional ballerina and a teacher and choreographer, Abigail’s studio owner: LoriAnn, asked Patty to teach a few classes while she was here. Here is a video of her doing that:

Also, Patty is bilingual. Since Sidge is studying Spanish, she worked with him on that today during our school day:

Lots more pics and videos of our fun time to come!!! Her hubby Yamil flies in tonight. I’m so bummed JB has to work the whole time they are here, but I’m glad they could get some respite and refuge at our home.
