Farm Day

The weekend before we said good bye to Daddy and made the long trip back to America, we had the opportunity to take a field trip as a family to a local Portuguese farm. This farmer and his wife had purposefully "recreated" their farm so it would represent farms a traditional Portuguese family years ago.

This island is an agricultural island. Farming is what nearly everyone does. It was educational and fascinating to see some of the Portuguese culture up close. Most of the trips through Outdoor Recreation here on Base, require children to be older than 5 to participate due to seating in their vehicles. This doesn't work for us. But this trip allowed us to drive our own vehicle. The kids had a great time!

P.S. The Outdoor Rec gals wear cow costumes. They are so great with the kiddos!
