Azores

We are here.

To say the island is beautiful ... would be a vast understatement.

To say our house is magnificent ... would do the same.

To say that Nick & Kristy prepared well for our arrival ... would not even come close to explaining everything they did.

We are in awe of the beauty of both our house, the land around us, and the amazing hospitality of our sponsors and friends Nick and Kristy.

Much, much, much more will be heard from me on all these topics. And the topic of my travel day which included two of the worst hours of my life. I'll foreshadow that story by saying: incredibly bad turbulence + not being allowed out of our seats + toddler who needed to go to the bathroom + a baby who had only slept 90 minutes in 24 hours = not good.

We do not have Internet or a phone right now. Not sure when we will. (I am typing this blog at Nick & Kristy's which is just a block from our new home.) But I did want to let everyone know that we have arrived safe and sound and are quickly adjusting to our new life and jet lag.

Much more adventure (and blogging) to come.

You will LOVE LOVE LOVE it there. My husbands family is from the Azores and talk and show pictures all the time. Though I never have been there myself and probably never will. You will have the best experience there. Woman (especially older woman) are very much like those in Turkey. They love children and will show affection anytime they can. After all I married into a Portuguese family and they are always doing this to my kids. Enjoy!!

Glad you guys arrived safe and sound, even though the trip sounds less than fun. Can't wait to hear more! Praying for an easy adjustment for you all. Maybe now would be a good time to say, THANKS for your service to our country Kitsteiner Family!!
