Work your finds

If you are anything like me, you find pleasure in the unique. You enjoy distinction, creativity and something that catches your eye.

Your home decor should be a reflection of what beauty means to you. The thoughtful selection of furniture, fabrics and accessories should reflect what you find special, your passions and interests.

Your decoration sense will send a message to your visitors. It will tell a story about who you are and what is important to you. That is why, independently of what your style is, you should select your pieces purposely.

Look in magazines, window stores, decoration programs, etc. to get ideas. Give some thought to your accessories. Visit several stores and search online. Explore local stores, antique shops, and artistic fairs. Basically, if you are looking for an impactful design, you should work your finds!

Last Saturday, my friend Autumn and I had a blast checking the Broomfield Antique Flea Market. If you live in the western Mass area and have never set foot in this show, you are missing out! The market takes place three times a year (May, July and September) and is divided in 21 field shows with many vendors in each of them. You can buy many neat things there! From big pieces of furniture to really unusual cool stuff!

Check some of my favorite things:

Because everybody needs a sausage stuffer in their homes, right? Ha!

Find those pieces that speak to you and blend them with the rest of your decor. Group them by color or theme. Think outside the box and give them an unexpected use! You can totally integrate antique pieces in your modern decor! Take your time and have fun acquiring those original things. They will, no doubt, stand out in your design!

Here you have one of my finds! I love my vintage bobbins and scissors! Got these beauties for only $12!

What finds are you proud of? Would you share your pictures with me? I'd love to see them!
