Well, since baby still isn't here, let's pass the time with something else. How about some videos of good
ol' Scrubby?! :)
JB and I spent a lot of time playing with Scrubs this weekend. We keep saying, "This may be the last time ..." So this weekend we said this may be the last time we can play with Scrubs without Isaac being here. And we decided to make the best of it that we could. Saturday we took him to the
dogpark and then to play F
risbee in the water on the bay. We found a new beachfront without any barnacles that he can safely go after his F
risbee without danger of getting his leg cut up again. After this, it was time for a bath!
This afternoon, we took Scrubs over to the bay to play F
risbee on the grass. I usually take him over 4-5 times a week to do this. Just fifteen minutes leaves him tired for hours. It is great exercise for him. He seems to get more tired doing this than he does going on a walk or even a run with me.
I tried to get a video of him successfully catching the F
risbee, but it didn't work out. There has to be a good combination of wind, thrower, and focused Scrubs to have successful catching. So today was just Scrubs "shagging" the F
risbee on the bay. He loves to slide in the grass as you'll see in the video. Sorry I didn't capture a successful catch. Maybe another day.

It's me, signing out. Goodnight.
How have you gotten Scrubs to listen to you when he's off the leash and not run off when you're at the park, beach, etc.? My dog listens well at home, but if he sees another dog or person, he wants to run after them to say "hi!" and will. not. listen. If he gets it in his head, there's no changing it, even though he knows it's wrong and he's going to be in trouble.
Well, quite honestly, what I have has to be greater than what he is leaving for. When we are in this area, the frisbee is a major "positive". He loves that thing so much that he won't usually leave it for anything. However, the other day we were out there and there were 10 kids having a birthday party outside and he got so excited that he went running and weaving in and out from them dodging all of them as they tried to chase him. :)
Another thing is, the Dalmatian breed in general is not a "run away" breed ... they stick very close. But otherwise, I think the answer is simply that he likes the frisbee more than he likes anything else that is there.
Amy ... you crack me up.
