We Bought a Farm: Meat Chickens in a Ford Expedition
You are constantly learning things when you are a farm "her" like me. Last year, we moved our meat chickens when the temperature was too hot, and we ended up having some chickens die. This year, we decided to be extra cautious in keeping the birds cool during their move from the brooder to the tractors.
This video shows how we decided to move them. I was so excited (cue the sarcasm!) to use my Ford Expedition to move chickens from the brooder out onto the pasture.
We had to wait until late in the evening to make sure the temperature was going down. Then we cranked up the air and did it "modern-style."
