Plumb "I want you here"
My husband recently stumbled a song entitled "I want you here" by Plumb -- a group he has loved for quite some time. The intro to this song, and the subsequent lyrics, are quite powerful. She is specifically talking to mothers who lose their babies -- but the loss is not something limited to a mother's. A great video to watch and share with those dealing with loss.
I encourage you to watch her explanation of the song in the first video but then skip ahead to the second video to listen to the song (It's a much better recording in the second video). There is a familiar intro to the song with a cover of Peter Gabriel's song, but then her song begins.

"I Want You Here"
An ache
So deep
That I
Can hardly breathe
This pain
Can't be imagined
Will it ever heal?
Ooh... ooh...
Your hand
So small
Held a strand of my hair
So strong
All I could do
Was keep believing
Was that enough?
Is anyone there?
I wanna scream
Is this a dream?
How could this happen,
Happen to me?
This isn't fair
This nightmare
This kind of torture
I just can't bear
I want you here
I want you here
Ooh... ooh...
I waited so long
For you to come
Then you were here
And now you're gone
I was not prepared
For you to leave me
Oh this is misery
Are you still there?
I wanna scream
Is this a dream?
How could this happen,
Happen to me?
This isn't fair
This nightmare
This kind of torture
I just can't bear
I want you here
I want you here
God help me,
God help me,
God help me
Breathe
I wanna scream
Is this a dream?
How could this happen,

This isn't fair

Recent Hannah Videos
Hannah has learned to give hugs on command -- and clap -- and fall over -- ha!
Hannah demonstrating how utterly impossible it is to keep the house picked up.
Hannah trying to escape up the stairs but getting stuck int he process and then running away.
Hannah trying to get away again -- and demonstrating her so cute chattering!

Five minutes with Hannah
Thought this video pretty accurately represents our little almost-one-year-old. She is chattering like crazy and waving bye-bye. No, she doesn't clap yet. I was just asking her too (repeatedly) in the video, to give us something to talk about. She does read however .... as you will plainly see!

Wee-wind Wednesday: Isaac's arrival
Quite a few people sent me a link to this video about a couple who adopts a son after nine years of infertility. It caused me to wee-wind to our own adoption of Isaac over five years ago.
While my husband and I, obviously, aren't Asian, I found this couple to be incredibly similar to us. In fact, going and getting their son reminded me a lot of how we went to get Isaac.
We got the call that Isaac was on his way at about 1pm. By 3pm we were on the road to make the ten hour drive from Eglin Air Force Base to Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Halfway there, we got a phone call. It was Isaac's birthmom Bri. She used the words, and I'll never forget them, "You have a son." It was the first time I had ever heard anyone else say out loud, that I had a child.
We walked into the hospital at night, just like this couple, hours after his birth. They carried an empty car seat. So symbolic of this infertility journey we both travelled.
And then, the moment we got to see our son for the very first time. They found words. I really don't have any.

Unforeseen
I recently received a link to a video from Tyrone Howard. I don't know Tyrone personally. He found me through my blog, and he sent me a copy of a short film he had done that he wanted my opinion on. He also hoped I would share it with my blog readers if I found it appropriate. "Unforeseen" was actyally designed to illustrate a life of second chances. However, Tyrone found that it was gathering good support amongst individuals who lost a child before he/she was born.
After watching the video, I can see why. While I have never experienced pregnancy loss, I do believe my history with infertility allows me to be a fair judge of the appropriateness of this video. I am asking my readers, especially those with a similar history to mine, to watch this video and help provide Tyrone with some feedback. Butbe forewarned that if you have faced pregnancy loss or even infertility, it may make you quite emotional. It is incredibly well done (in my opinion) and I believe very accurately portrays this difficult part of life. Please leave a comment that I can share with Tyrone -- either positive or negative. Here is the link to the video. We need more individuals opening up dialogue on this part of life, and I think Tyrone's video is worth your time.
