I have a dear friend from our medical school years at Mayo Clinic. Rachel Sviggum married one of JB's classmates: Hans. They still live in Rochester and now have SIX children ... including a three-year-old. Woah!
Anyways, Rachel was asking me if I had a picture of where JB worked, and I thought: I should put that on my Blog. So here is John's hospital. It was once called Laughlin and it has now been changed in name to Greeneville Community Hospital East.
I believe there are 18 beds in the ER? But I need to ask JB to confirm that.
The picture includes John's co-director, Randy Belt (gray shirt on the far left.) John and Randy work SO well together, and they split the duties of the director of the ED. John handles a lot more of the people stuff and Randy handles a lot more of the numbers/calendar/crunching stuff. This picture is of the two of them receiving an award for PA/Physician Team of the Year award by the Tennessee Academy of Physician Assistants (TAPA). You can read more about that here.
